Grasslands that were 1) protected; 2) overgrazed and 3) mown were compared for gross rates of mineralization, nitrification and consumption during growth seasons. The 15 N isotope pool dilution technique in intact cores was used to study differences in nitrogen transformation within three management systems of L. chinensis grasslands.
