It is a new developing technique recently. The SR has made it possible to observe the intra- and extracellular Na+ and K+. NMR has the advantages over conventional techniques such as flame photometry and radioisotope tracer of being nondestructive, noninvasive and continuous, so that net fluxes can be followed with a reasonably fast time resolution concentrations. Avoiding possible artifacts of the isolation precedures.
