Heme-oxygenase-1 (HO-1) is a cytoprotective molecule that has been shown to be beneficial in various models of renal injury. However, the role of HO-1 in reversing an established renal scar has not yet been addressed. %U http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0014298
