%X Using an age model based on magnetostratigraphic and tephrostratigraphic control points, we assigned ages to two planktic foraminiferal events from the Pleistocene sequence in the northwest Pacific: the first occurrence of Neogloboquadrina pachyderma at 1.25 ¡À 0.04 Ma and the last occurrence of Neogloboquadrina inglei at 0.73 ¡À 0.05 Ma.
