The process is highly effective and very selective. The ¡ªCOOH functionalized Br nsted acidic ionic liquid with the two acid sites (IL-3) exhibited the most excellent catalytic performance under mild reaction conditions. The ¡ªCOOH functionalized Br nsted acidic ionic liquid could be conveniently separated from the product and easily recycled in subsequent runs. %K ionic liquid %K 2 %K 4-diisopropyl-5 %K 5-dimethyl-1 %K 3-dioxane %K isobutylaldehyde %U http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11434-008-0377-3
