%0 Journal Article %T Epistemolog¨ªa feminista: La subversi¨®n semi¨®tica de las mujeres en la ciencia %A Maffia %A Diana %J Revista Venezolana de Estudios de la Mujer %D 2007 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X expelling women from science (like in the other human cultural constructions) brings a double effect: to avoid our emancipation into the epistemic communities which build and legit¨ªmate knowledge, and repel the qualities viewed as £¿female£¿ from such construction and legitimaron, furthermore considering them as obstacles. perhaps one of the reasons to explain why since almost twenty years ago in the development of feminist epistemology the critics hitherto have not penetrated enough into the scientific communities, for these ideas are viewed as either an ideology or a social criticism from outside the methods legitimated by science to eval¨²ate its knowledge. there is a real sexism in the scientific theories (outcome), which has been cleverly showed by many female epistemologists; another one is present along the composition and claims about pertaining and merits, within the scientific communities (process). the challenge of feminism is based on the demonstration of the link between those kinds of sexism. to receive the support of women (the different women) to science is not only fair to women, as well as the elimination of female from the field of scientific knowledge is not only a loss to them. it is a loss for science and the advancement of human knowledge, because the searching horizons of the same science are narrowed too. and it is also a loss to democracy, due to the fact that all hegemonic intent (even that of knowledge) is ethically and politically oppressive in the same way %K gender and science %K feminist epistemology %K feminism %K postmodern¨ªsm %K postcolon¨ªal¨ªsm. %U http://www.scielo.org.ve/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1316-37012007000100005&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
