%0 Journal Article %T G¨¦nesis de la onto-epistemolog¨ªa liberal %A Angeleri %A Sandra %J Revista Venezolana de Estudios de la Mujer %D 2008 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X this article recreates part of the philosophical conversation which instituted the homo modernus as the modern ontological and epistemological entity. my task is to deveal the effects that the production of the modern subject, his discourses, and self-attributes have had in the cognitive order, understanding this knowledge as the main tool of power of modernity. it reflects on the effects of the obstacles and negotiations implied in the philosophical trajectory that led to establish the self-consciousness of the homo modernus as the universal reference of scientific knowledge. it states that by reducing the human body to an instrument of knowledge -as an extended thing- it established the mind as the access to other extended entities, i.e.to all things that exist in the space. at the same time, by conceiving knowledge as mediated by the tools of universal reason, space was resignified as exteriority. the argument is twofold. on the one hand, i argue that the foreclose of spatiality enabled the formulation of the homo modernus as the entity without a body, oustside of space -the domanin of determinacy, in which being is an effect of relationships- i.e., the writing of modern consciousness as marked by self-determination and transparency. i also contend that grounding the defining attributes of the homo modernus -self-determination and transparency- upon all-powerful reason opened up the possibility that the extended, exterior, immanent dimension of human beings -namely, the body- could follow the same trajectory as that of other similar things, to become an object, as production of the strategies of reason. %K liberal ontology %K liberal epistemology %K knowledge %K body %K mind. %U http://www.scielo.org.ve/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1316-37012008000100003&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
