%0 Journal Article %T Rendimiento de grano de genotipos de ma赤z sembrados bajo tres densidades de poblaci車n %A de la Cruz-L芍zaro %A E %A C車rdova-Orellana %A H %A Estrada-Botello %A MA %A Mendoza-Palacios %A JD %A G車mez-V芍zquez %A A %A Brito-Manzano %A NP %J Universidad y ciencia %D 2009 %I Universidad Ju芍rez Aut車noma de Tabasco %X the objective of this study was to determine the effect of the population density on the grain yield of nine tropical maize genotypes (zea mays l.). a study was conducted in 2005 at the experimental station of the universidad ju芍rez aut車noma de tabasco, centro municipality, tabasco. a randomized complete block experimental design with four replicates and a split plot arrangement was used. the big plots contained population densities of 44 289, 53 200 and 66 500 plants ha-1, and the small plot contained population densities of 21, 22, 23, 25, 32, 43, 49, the hs-3g hybrid and the vs-536 variety. significant differences among densities were recorded only for grain yield (p < 0.01), genotypes for plant height (p < 0.01), ear height (p < 0.01), and days to flowering (p < 0.01). the density of 66 500 plants ha-1 presented the greatest grain yield (p < 0.05). the interaction between population and density was non significant. the genotypes with the best grain yield were populations 21, 23, 25, 43 and hs-3g. %K zea mays l. %K populations %K days to flowering. %U http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0186-29792009000100007&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
