%X this article presents the results obtained by modeling the performance of a core ip/atm network compared to a crldp/ip/mpls network when carrying delay sensitive traffic (videoconferencing) with minimum resource reservation guarantees and optimal interaction between user and applications. in order conduct the experiments, opnet-modeler simulation software (educational version) was used, which encouraged alternative implementation features that help decide which of the two technologies represents a suitable solution for current networking problems, where large volumes of information need to be transmitted and the qos offered to average users is pretty poor.
