%X this article emphasizes the urgency of public politics to consider the heterogeneity of poverty in brazil. it proposes an integrated social politics addressed to poverty reduction that takes into account this heterogeneity and that is based on true and clear social indicators. besides, the text outlines some general principles that must guide the indicators' composition.
