%X this paper approaches the issue of cooperation activities carried out by technology-based firms (tbfs). drawing on a database built from a survey including 100 brazilian tbfs, we argue that among these firms the practice of cooperation is quite restricted, too concentrated on relationships with universities, and reflects a low density networking. such circumstances clearly hinder the innovative performance of brazilian tbfs, thus undermining their competitiveness as a whole in the long run.
