%X this article is a collective study based on scherer-warren's concepts of networks and social movements. it is the result of a research done by the group of study and research on social movements (nemos) of the social services postgraduation program of pontif¨ªcia universidade cat¨®lica de s£¿o paulo. the study point to a research agenda to rethink the new configurations of xxi century's social movements, their connections to the state and political parties, their political articulation and their diverse background.
