%X a new species of the south american hybosorid genus metachaetodus is described, m. carolineae ocampo sp. nov. a key and diagnostic characters for all known species of the genus are presented. a map with the known distribution for the species is provided. the species m. discus de borre is cited for brazil for the first time.
