%X this article examines various documents put forward within the context of the discussion on equal marriage currently being held at the constitutional tribunal and the legislative process. from this analysis, it concludes that chilean public deliberation presents an uneven fulfillment of the standards stemming from communicative ethics, which in this article is conceptualized from the perspective of the work of carlos nino.
