%X the historical-philosophical epistemology of the vision of the vanquished (visi¨®n de los vencidos) supposed the existence of a true, complementary to the defeated s one, in all discourse on america. nevertheless, that perspective leads, unwillingly, to a weakening of the idea of truth in relation to the continent. this opens the path to its derealisation and leads to the idea that america is a speech game within another speech games, and does not address a reality or a philosophical-epistemological truth. our statements are supported by analysis of some aspects of the work of peter sloterdijk and peter mason and of the journey of omagua y dorado, written in 1561.
