%X the article deals with the paradox that emerges, on one hand, from the need of foundationalism and, on the other, by its impossibility. faced with the problem, it suggests a reading of wittgenstein£¿s on certainty which allows a different conception of foundationalism - one in which the fundament and the founded belong to different spheres, and where truth is no longer linked to certainty. due to wittgenstein£¿s lack of clarity regarding the required changes in the certainty system, ideas from gadamer£¿s philosophy must be considered in order to provide an adequate reading of the sections 94-99 of on certainty.
