%X the enactment of fragmentary legislation to supplement the chilean civil code has brought about what civil law scholars have termed the de-codification phenomenon. this expression refers to the emergence of special bodies of laws which supersede entire chapters of the civil code, thus relegating it to a secondary role. this paper seeks to determine whether this phenomenon, which affects civil rules, also extends to rules of civil procedure and, in particular, to the chilean code of civil procedure.
