%0 Journal Article %T ACCI¨®N DE LA HIPERVITAMINOSIS A EN EL GERMEN DENTARIO DE FETOS DE RATA: ESTUDIO HISTOL¨®GICO Y MORFOM¨¦TRICO %A Vilela %A Antonella Sachsida Braga %A Costa %A Jos¨¦ Ren¨¢n Vieira da %A Lopes %A Ruberval A. %A Sala %A Miguel A. %J Revista chilena de anatom¨ªa %D 2001 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %R 10.4067/S0716-98682001000300001 %X the purpose of the present study was to characterize, histologically and mrphometrically, the changes in the outer and inner epithelia of the dental organ of rat fetuses' molar tooth whose mothers had been injected with an excessive single doses of vitamin a during the teratogenic period (gd10). the histological analysis of the treated groups animals revealed that the outer and inner epithelia of the dental organ showed shorter cells with smaller nuclei. the morphometric study revealed that the epithelia of the dental organ showed smaller nuclei in the animals treated with vitamin a in excess, than the control animals, as well as those nuclei showed alteration of their shapes. the obtained results suggest that excessive vitamin a act on the odontogenesis and facial morphogenesis, leading to the birth of malformed fetuses %K hypervitaminosis a %K fetus %K rat %K tooth germ %K morphometry. %U http://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0716-98682001000300001&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
