%0 Journal Article %T Concentraciones s¨¦ricas de cobre en evaluaci¨®n de respuesta a quimioterapia primaria en c¨¢ncer de mama %A Celed¨®n Arrieta %A Paola %A Castillo %A Marianella %A Pastr¨¢n %A Zulay %A Careddu %A Analisa %A Dordelly %A Jacdebline %A Bravo %A Alfonso %J Revista Venezolana de Oncolog¨ªa %D 2011 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X the main objective of this study was to determine the usefulness of the serum copper in the evaluation of response to primary chemotherapy in patients with diagnostic of breast cancer, which currently we does not have a serum marker to evaluate the response. the variation in the serum copper levels was evaluated in six patients with locally advanced breast cancer before each cycle of primary chemotherapy and correlated it with clinical response by measuring tumor size and the response imaging by mammography. the results indicate that variations in the serum copper is not correlated with clinical response (p = 0.70) nor imaging response in mammography (p = 0.43) to the chemotherapy. in our series, the serum copper was not useful as a marker for assessing response to the primary chemotherapy in the diagnostic of breast cancer. %K copper %K trace %K element %K breast %K cancer. %U http://www.scielo.org.ve/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0798-05822011000300003&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
