%X because of its high interactivity the web 2.0 promotes greater participation in the management of content, leading to new collaborative applications on the internet; a perspective that could significantly transform educational practices. key elements of web 2.0 include: blogs, wikis, text editors on the web, rss aggregators, social bookmarking, podcasts, web sites to share photos, presentations, microblogging, etc. the educational community needs to be aware of these technologies and their potential role in the processes of learning / teaching in the field of medicine. in this paper, we review the most common tools of web 2.0, experiences on their use in medical education and some recommendations for use in virtual learning environments.
