%0 Journal Article %T Caracter¨ªsticas epidemiol¨®gicas relacionadas con el g¨¦nero en hipertensos de raza negra %A Navarro Lechuga %A ¨¦dgar %A Vargas Moranth %A Rusvelt %J Revista Salud Uninorte %D 2009 %I Universidad del Norte %X objetive: to determine gender differences of hypertension in black race people to obtain a baseline for future researches. materials and methods: descriptive and transversal study. there were studied 1017 black people from barranquilla city, from whom 217 had hypertension (97 men and 120 women), and in them there were studied cardiovascular risk factors. results: 26,8% of men had more than 49 years, and 40,9% of women too. 51,3% of men and 57,1% of women were in treatment for hypertension. mean cardiovascular risk factor in men was alcohol consumption (94,8%), and in women obesity/overweight (75%). conclussions: there are differences between men and women according with presence of cardiovascular risk factors. interventions must focus having in count these differences. %K hypertension %K black people %K cardiovascular risk factor. %U http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0120-55522009000100009&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
