%X angle class ii malocclusion is characterized by an anteroposterior dental discrepancy which is generally accompanied by skeletal disharmonies. early orthodontic treatment allows the correction of skeletal discrepancies using growth control (first phase) which favors later correction of tooth positioning (second phase). this case report describes an angle class ii, division 2, malocclusion treated in two phases and was presented to the brazilian board of orthodontics and facial orthopedics (bbo) as part of the requirements for bbo certification. it was evaluated as a category 1 case, i.e., class ii malocclusion treated without extractions, with growth control.
