%X the results of the application of the major ambulatory surgery of the pediatric maxillofacial patient at the "carlos manuel de c¨¦spedes" provincial general teaching hospital, in bayamo, during one year (1993) are exposed. 64 % of the patients were operated on by this procedure, and 70.8 % of the series were administered general anesthesia. the exeresis of the impacted tooth was the most frequent surgical procedure with 31.5 %. the results are discussed and compared with those of other authors. as regards the concept day-patient, there was a significant saving for the institution of $ 16 450,56. 100 % of the relatives prefer this method to the habitual one.
