%0 Journal Article %T Estudio del metabolismo lip¨ªdico en una poblaci¨®n de ni£¿os supuestamente sanos %A Alvarez Hern¨¢ndez %A Addis %A Cabrera Hern¨¢ndez %A Alejandrina %A Puga Gomez %A Rinaldo %A Omechevarr¨ªa Perdomo %A Elia %J Revista Cubana de Medicina General Integral %D 1995 %I ECIMED %X serum total cholesterol concentrations (tc), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (c-ldl), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (c-hdl), and triglycerides (tg) were determined in a population consisting of 100 seemingly healthy children between 7 months and 5 years of age. individual pathologic history, as well as familial pathologic history related to the atherosclerotic process and the type of diet usually consumed by the children were also assessed. in each case the relationship weight-for-height was obtained. the mean value for total cholesterol concentrations was 4,34 mmol/l; 12 % of cases presented with higher levels than 5,2 mmol/l and only 53 % and 45 %, respectively, had desirable concentrations of tc and c-ldl. besides, the values of tc and c-ldl were found to be significantly higher in children with a positive familial history of hyperlipidemia and other related conditions. %K cholesterol [blood] %K lipoproteins %K ldl cholesterol [blood] %K lipoproteins %K hdl-cholesterol [blood] %K triglycerides [blood] %K child %K body weight %K body height %K diet. %U http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0864-21251995000300006&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
