%0 Journal Article %T Resistencia a antibi¨®ticos en cepas de Acinetobacter baumannii aisladas de enero a marzo del 2010 en el Hospital Clinicoquir¨²rgico "Hermanos Ameijeiras" %A Hart Casares %A Marcia %A Espinosa Rivera %A Fidel %A Halley Posada %A Mar¨ªa del Carmen %A Mart¨ªnez Batista %A Mar¨ªa Luisa %A Montes de Oca M¨¦ndez %A Zurelys %J Revista Cubana de Medicina %D 2010 %I ECIMED %X introduction: the infections due to acinetobacter baumannii have increased in past years in patients admitted in intensive care units leading to an increase of resistance to antibiotics and of hospital costs, a greater hospital morbidity and mortality. methods: all strains of acinetobacter baumanni isolated from january to march, 2010 were studied, identified according to the compact vitek 2 automated system methodology, following the recommendations of manufacturer (biom¨¦rieux, francia) with id gn cards, the sensitivity tests were carried out with ast n82 cards with automated reading. results: acinetobacter baumanni was isolated in 40 patients. the 77 % correspond to strains isolated from blood. we achieve high percentages of resistance to all beta-lactamase antibiotics even with beta-lactamase inhibitors, the resistance was of 100 % to ampicillin, of 98.6 % to ticarcillin-clavulanic acid and of 66.7 % to ticarcillin-tazobactan. in the interval of 8 years has been an increase of 82 % of resistance to imipenem as well as with the meropenem. there was a 100 % of sensitivity to colistine and tigecicline. conclusions: the strains showed high levels of resistance, mainly to beta-lactamase antibiotics including the carbapenemic5 ones. the resistance to aminoglycosides and quinolones was very high; however, the colistine and the tigecicline remain with a 100 % of sensitivity. the leading mechanism of resistance founded was the presence of carbapenemase, which is a great clinical, microbiological and epidemiological challenge in assistance activity. %K resistance %K multi-resistance %K acinetobacter baumannii. %U http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0034-75232010000300001&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
