%0 Journal Article %T Factores psicosociales presentes en la tercera edad %A Fern¨¢ndez Bra£¿as %A Sonia %A Almui£¿a G¨¹emes %A Marcia %A Alonso Chil %A Oscar %A Blanco Mesa %A Blanca %J Revista Cubana de Higiene y Epidemiolog£¿-a %D 2001 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X an exploratory study was conducted among 50 patients aged 60 and over in order to identify the most frequent psychosocial factors in the elderly through the self-perception of the aged people. the survey of psychosocial factors in the elderly was used as a method to collect information. the need to be heard and the loss of social roles were the most common psychological factors (98 %, both). the need of social communication was the social factor with the hgihest percentage (98 %). it was concluded that there was no coincidence between the psychosocial factors identified by the self-perception of the elderly and the reviewed bibliography. it was recommended to take into account this source of information at the time of implementing health plans and programs for the elderly. %K geriatric psychiatry %K aging [psychology] %K psychology %K social %K self concept %K social problems. %U http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1561-30032001000200001&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
