%X it is presented a panorama on the diversity of those agents that enhance permeation and are used at present, as well as on the procedures most frequently used to know the mechanism of action of these substances. the theoretical aspects concerning the skin physiology and the percutaneous absorption are also approached. reference is made to the possible modes of action in which these enhancers act. to conclude, some of the newest techniques used to improve the diffusion of active substances through the skin barrier are mentioned.
