Resultados preliminares %A Estrada del Cueto %A Marianela %A Garc¨ªa Caraballoso %A Martha Beatriz %A Cisneros Zerquera %A Haycelvi %A D¨ªaz Barroso %A Liz Mabel %A Bravo Pe£¿a %A Marl¨¦n %A Abreu Cruz %A Jos¨¦ %A Espinosa Estrada %A Edgardo E. %A Hern¨¢ndez Padr¨®n %A Carlos %A Svarch %A Eva %A P¨¦rez Diez de los R¨ªos %A Graciela %A Hern¨¢ndez Mart¨ªnez %A Ana %A Wade Mateo %A Maura %A Espinosa Mart¨ªnez %A Edgardo %J Revista Cubana de Hematolog£¿-a, Inmunolog£¿-a y Hemoterapia %D 2010 %I Editorial Ciencias M¨¦dicas %X a total of 59 patients aged over 18 with sickle cell anemia were studied distributed in: group 1 (23) without acute thoracic syndrome (acs), priapism and malleolus ulcers; group 2 (39) with some of above complications. in group 2 there was a significant decrease of hemoglobin (hb) and the fetal hb and a platelet increase, lactic dehydrogenase (ldh), aspartate aminotransferase (ast), alanine aminotransferase (alt), total bilirubin (tb), alkaline phosphatase (aph), creatine kinase-mb (ck-mb) and of encephalic stroke frequency. the frequency of ast, malleolus ulcers and priapism in group 2 was of 83.3 %, 33.3 % and 50 %, respectively. the multiple linear regression analysis in all patients considering the ldh as a negati ve correlation significant for hb and the hto and positive for creatinine, ast, alt, tb, db, ib, aph and ck-mb. the pulmonary hypertension frequency was of 18.2 % (n= 10). these studies may be useful in the early diagnosis of hemolysis-related complications. %K sickle cell anemia %K hematological variables %K biochemical variables %K pulmonary hypertension. %U http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0864-02892010000200007&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
