%0 Journal Article %T Incidencia de intoxicaciones ex¨®genas en el cuerpo de guardia del hospital infantil sur %A Barriera Quiala %A Miriam %A Fern¨¢ndez S¨¢nchez %A Santa %A Gandarias Edward %A Aleida %J Revista Cubana de Enfermer£¿-a %D 1999 %I Editorial Ciencias M¨¦dicas %X a study of 35 patients who received medical attention at the emergency department of the south children hospital of santiago de cuba during the first quarter of 1995 due to exogenous poisonings caused by different substances was conducted. the information was collected in a form made to this end and it was manually processed. it was observed a predominance of females and of the age group 1-3. most of the children were admitted. although only one of the patients had psychiatric history, it was highly significant that psychotropic drugs were the most ingested toxicants. in the largest group the time elapsed since the moment of poisoning untilreceiving attention was no longer than 30 minutes. evolution was satisfactory in all cases. %K poisoning [epidemiology] %K emergency service %K hospital. %U http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0864-03191999000300014&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
