Serie ciencias forestales y del ambiente %D 2011 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %R 10.5154/r.rchscfa.2010.05.032 %X the present investigation characterizes the post-fire woody regeneration recovered after the fire that occurred in 1998 and affected 500 ha of temperate forests in the chipinque ecological park (ne mexico). the objectives were to estimate the richness and diversity of woody vegetation (¡Ý 1 cm diameter) regenerated after the fire and assess the ecological parameters of abundance (ari), dominance (dri), frequency (fri) and importance value index (ivi) of the species. there were 10 orders, 11 families, 21 genera and 26 species. the genus quercus was the most representative, presenting 148.16 % of ecological importance in the area. the most representative species were quercus polymorpha (ivi=71.13 %) and pinus pseudostrobus (ivi=50.67 %). tree density was 2864 n/ha, with foliage cover of 12526 m2/ha, which indicated coverage of 100 % and overlapping crowns. the values of margalef richness index (dmg = 3.64) and shannon diversity (h'= 2.39) indicated high diversity. %K diversity %K richness %K importance value index. %U http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0186-32312011000100004&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
