%X this study, describe for the first time the occurrence of zaprionus indianus gupta, 1970 in "juazeiro" fruits (ziziphus joazeiro) in mossor¨®, state of rio grande do norte, brazil. it was collected fruits in "juazeiro" trees planted in the universidade federal rural do semi-¨¢rido (ufersa) in mossor¨® - rn. the fruits collected were taken to the laboratory of applied entomology of the ufersa, weighed and packaged in plastic containers with vermiculite and covered with voile fabric. a total of 188 specimens of this flies was obtained from 932 puparium collected from the fruits.
