%X the article seeks to discuss and clarify topics on the political argument developed by sergio buarque de holanda in roots of brazil. for this purpose, it returns to some of the problematization found in the 1936 publication, which was later either modified or purged in order to reconstruct the political content of the argument and to situate such argumentation in the context of its time, as well as to point out established ties with other authors and ideas.
