%X congenital melanocytic nevi are present in approximately 1% of newborns. the lesions classified as small and medium are relatively common, and have low risk of malignant degeneration, however, lesions called giants are rare and have a higher risk of malignancy. this work describes the author's experience in the surgical treatment of giant pigmented nevi.
