This article gives a brief review of scientific researches of high-alloyed chromium-nickel steels stress corrosion cracking (SCC) process of welded joints. Welded joints are one of the most complex objects from the standpoint of the general theory of corrosion fatigue of metals. During their operation a number of problems arise related to the heterogeneity of the material properties, the complexity of the structure, the presence o ...

The tunable nature of the solubility of various compounds, including
molecules of pharmaceutical and biological interest, in supercritical fluids
(SCFs) makes SCF extraction technology attractive for many separation and purification
processes. Among the different influencing parameters, the most important one
in the supercritical based processes is the knowledge of solubility of model
solute. But, experimental measurement of the solubility of all pharmaceuticals
in wide ranges of temperature and...

The task was to find out the most appropriate expandable graphite
intercalation compound GIC for intumescent seals. The application in fire seals
required GICs, which exerted high expansion at low burning rates. Therefore
graphite was treated with nitric, sulphuric, phosphoric acids and ferric
chloride. Phosphoric acid with its flame retardant properties was the
favourite, but graphite treated with it, did not exfoliate, therefore
expandable graphite was post treated with phosphoric acid. Elemen...

New regulations for hazardous air pollutants drove operations to
compliant coatings. Powder coatings were the most popular choice. A screening
of intumescent powder coatings was carried out comprising binders like
thermoplastics as plasticised polyvinylchloride and polypropylene as well as
non-cross linked thermosets as polyurethanes. Intumescence was achieved by
addition of the intumescent ingredient bicyclopentaerythritol phosphate, by the intumescent

Selective methods of thermocatalytic determination of carbon oxide and hydrocarbons in exhaust gases of vehicles are based on measurement of different thermo effects of oxidation of a combustible mixture, obtained from two identical thermosensible elements working at different temperatures are developed. At one temperature there is an oxidation of all analyzed gas mixture, and on another—the mixture without a selectively determined component and by the difference of thermo effects an exact conce...
