%0 Journal Article %T Significaciones Imaginarias Sociales Sobre la Homosexualidad en la Prensa Escrita de Venezuela %A Ruiz %A Nelson %J Psicoperspectivas %D 2011 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %R 10.5027/psicoperspectivas-Vol10-Issue2-fulltext-152 %X the present article shows in a partial way the results of an investigation aimed at revealing imaginary social significances about homosexuality in the written press of venezuela, within the framework of the project of organic law for the equality and equity of gender. a social psychoanalytic analysis of news from "el nacional", "šČltimas noticias" and "el universal" was undertaken. the results of this study showed that: (a) the written press presented blockades and censorship to treat topics on sexuality and political affairs; (b) the matters of the lgbti collective are of second order for the venezuelan state; (c) the juridical changes are not sufficient to install a new symbolic order that recognizes sexual diversity; (d) in venezuela the civil unions among people of the same sex places the myth of "the patriarchal family" at risk; (e) the preservation of the family is achieved from imaginary social significances that increase homophobia; (f) the recognition of the civil laws of the lgbti collective is being absorbed by the control of the authoritarian state, the domain of straight standards and the religious marks of the catholic-christian church. %K homosexuality %K social imaginary %K discourse %K discourse analysis. %U http://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0718-69242011000200010&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
