%X the essential oil of schinus terebinthifolius (anacardiaceae) was analyzed by gc and gc-ms. ¦Á-fenchene, limonene, ¦Â-pinene, ¦Á-phellandrene, and ¦Â-isosylvestrene represent about 80% of the oil composition. the reproductive toxicity of the essential oil in wistar male rats was evaluated. no changes were observed in the mass of the reproductive organs, number and morphology of spermatozoa, reproductive rates, and the body mass of offspring of male rats after treatment with the essential oil of s. terebinthifolius.
