%X the present text intends to discover the existence of philosophy in the thinking of native american people, on the basis of the experience of encounter and cohabitation with different ethnic groups of brazil. arguments are proposed in favor of the presented thesis and some of the characteristics of these philosophies will be illustrated, comparing and contrasting them, from an intercultural philosophical perspective, with some principles or assumptions of the western rationality.
