%X we describe the torrent duck's (merganetta armata) diving technique from deep and shallow waters in two rivers of the north-western patagonia, through 36 observations on 3 individuals. we discuss the possibility that this diving technique is a stereotyped behaviour. we relate the feeding behaviour to the habits of the main preys from the area.
