%X abstract setaria magna griseb. (poaceae) is reported for the first time for venezuela, both description and figures are presented. this species had been collected in the states of ara-gua, carabobo, miranda and sucre, almost always around lakes. this is a preliminar result of the taxonomic study of setaria genus in venezuela that has been conducted by the author.
