%X Background: Difficulty with the proximal lesion approach and durability of endoscopicultrasonography (EUS) instruments usually limits its application for lowergaotrointestina (GI) lesions to locoregional staging of rectal cancer. This studyinvestigated the value of colonoscopic miniprobe ultrasonography for differentialdiagnosis and treatment strategy in patients with colorectal subepitheliallesions (SEL).Methods: Miniprobe ultrasonography was Performed in 40 consecutive patients with suspectedcolorectal SEL or residual lesions after endoscopic resection at onemedical center by the same endoscopist (C-J Lin). The EUS images and procedurerecords were reviewed. The final diagnosis of these lesions was confirmedby crosssection imaging, histopathologic findings, or clinical follow-up.Results: Miniprobe EUS allowed high-resolution imaging and a successful approach toall colorectal SEL through the working channel of a sigmoidoscope or colonoscopewithout breakdown of the miniprobe.
