An Empirical Analysis Based On Hofstede¡¯s Cultural Dimension Model %A Sven Horak %J Business and Economics Journal %D 2010 %I %X Whereas the impact of culture on international business has been frequently investigated, the impact of culture on value perceptions especiallyin small teams has received less attention in the academic debate. This study investigates the impact of culture on a small team representedby a group of international students studying in Germany. The underlying research question is to investigate whether the general dimensionsof culture proposed by Hofstede influence small multicultural teams and whether they have any negative impact on those teams¡¯performance. In summary, this study could not find clear indications that culture plays a role. This result might be explained by the students¡¯adoption to an international environment and by the convergence of cultures due to their dynamic character, especially within a young targetgroup. Finally, the small sample size indicates a preliminary result, rather than drawing a valid final conclusion. Further research in this directionis recommended by investigating a larger number of small teams. %K Multinational small teams %K cultural dimensions %K value perceptions %K Hofstede %U http://astonjournals.com/manuscripts/Vol2010/BEJ-8_Vol2010.pdf
