%X The eighteenth century philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau considers pity as a human feeling that by providing the identification to the other, provides the first tie that binds men among themselves. Through pity, man suffers the suffering of others, because realize that he may suffer the same evils. It is the imagination that active pity throwing himself out of himself, and thus, pity, although natural, manifest only after reflection. In modern society, pity cannot truly promote the ties of humanity, since man went away from his nature. Thus, an education that emphasized the natural development of this feeling could restore the goodness of the earliest societies.
