%X After taking care to redefine the concepts of trace, heritage and memory, we focus on the heritage process, which begins with the selection of traces and finishes with their interpretation until they become a collective memory. We shall examine in particular the dynamics of popular cultures, as opposed to academic cultures. Finally, we strive to evidence two major trend characteristics of the recent valorization of the popular heritage.
