%T In the mismatch of Law: struggle for hegemony and diffusion of Telesur in Argentina

%X This paper investigates whether the Law of Audiovisual Communication Services, based on a paradigm of democratization of communications, expanded access to multistate Telesur television in Argentina, which until then was limited to 6% of pay-TV audience. It shows that, although the law contains contributions in favor of further spread of the signal in both the broadcasting station opened as the pay-TV service, little has changed in the scenario presented, because the multimedia conglomerates constituted under the converged communication paradigm still waging a battle to maintain its hegemony, imposing resistances to pluralization and diversi cation of Argentine communicational space.
