Para elegir los sitios Web se definieron los siguientes criterios: 1o) sitio web de gesti車n p迆blica del Estado de origen de los investigadores, y 2o) compararlo con los sitios web de gesti車n p迆blica de los cinco pa赤ses que m芍s turistas internacionales recibieron en el a o 2010 seg迆n la OMT (2011), utilizando el mecanismo de b迆squeda de Google y considerando la maximizaci車n del uso de medios y redes sociales. Se present車 la importancia de adoptar estrategias de marketing de medios, redes sociales y de b迆squeda en la promoci車n tur赤stica online de estados y regiones tur赤sticas, organizaciones p迆blicas y privadas. Como m谷todo de investigaci車n se adopt車 la t谷cnica bibliogr芍fica y documental, por medio de la observaci車n cualitativa de los sitios Web que fue aplicada entre el 20 y el 25 de noviembre de 2011. Se identific車 que Facebook, Twitter, Youtube y Flickr son las plataformas m芍s utilizadas en la promoci車n tur赤stica online. Puede decirse que la Comunitad Valenciana, Emiglia Romagna y Riviera Francesa se destacaron en el uso de los medios y redes sociales en la promoci車n tur赤stica online, seguidos por el estado de California (Estados Unidos) y por迆ltimo Paran芍 (Brasil), que utilizan medios y redes sociales desde sus inicios y por lo tanto son mejor explotadas. The objective of this research was to analyze the innovations of tourism promotion in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Flickr, Tripadvisor, Blog and Social Bookmarking) by public tourist management and destination management organizations (national and international) chosen by the following criteria: 1) choose the public management tourist website of the State researchers and 2) compare with public management tourist websites of the top five most visited countries by international tourists in 2010 according to the WTO (2011), using Google and putting into consideration the maximum utilization social media channels. This study aims to present the theoretical importance of adopting Social Media Marketing (SMM) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) strategies in terms of online tourism promotion of State and tourist regions, private and public organizations.
