%0 Journal Article %T Variables del proceso docente y principios para la renovaci¨®n curricular de la carrera de medicina Variables of the teaching process and principles for curricular renewal of the medical career %A Roberto Dom¨ªnguez Hern¨¢ndez %A Miriam Gonz¨¢lez P¨¦rez %J Educaci£¿3n M£¿£¿dica Superior %D 2006 %I Editorial Ciencias M¨¦dicas %X La vigencia durante 20 a os del curr¨ªculo actual de la carrera de medicina es condici¨®n suficiente para un an¨¢lisis de la pertinencia en su desarrollo, si a ello se suman las transformaciones, que en materia de educaci¨®n superior en general y educaci¨®n m¨¦dica en particular, han venido desarroll¨¢ndose en este tiempo, y las profundas modificaciones que se est¨¢n produciendo en el sistema nacional de salud cubano, particularmente en el nivel primario de atenci¨®n, que es el escenario principal de trabajo del egresado, entonces el an¨¢lisis deviene necesidad de urgente satisfacci¨®n. Por tales razones, se plantearon dos objetivos principales de investigaci¨®n, analizar el curr¨ªculo vigente de la carrera de medicina, identificando las principales debilidades y proponer un sistema de principios, cient¨ªficamente fundamentados para la renovaci¨®n curricular. Las debilidades del curr¨ªculo vigente se estudiaron mediante consulta a expertos, procedi¨¦ndose a enunciar un sistema de principios para la renovaci¨®n curricular The present curriculum of medical career is already 20 years-old, so this provides enough reasons for the analysis of its relevance. If the significant changes in higher education in general and medical education in particular are added together with the deep transformations occurring in the national healthcare system, particularly in primary care that is the main work setting of the graduate, then the analysis turns into an urgent need to be met. For these reasons, two main research objectives were set: the analysis of the present curriculum of medical career to identify its weaknesses, and the proposal of a scientifically founded system of principles for curricular renewal.
