"nWe can consider the approximate heart size. Rough quantification of heart failure, very basic anatomy of the heart. The chest radiograph is widely available, cheap and very low long term risk of radiation. Chest radiographs are required in the initial consultation of heart or lung diseases. Follow-up radiographs are only required in certain situations. Chest radiographs contain significant information. But nowadays we look less critically, because it is easy to order echo, CT or MRI.
