%X Este artigo ¨¦ uma reflex o sobre a percep  o masculina da cor nas vestimentas sociais (terno). Realizou-se uma retrospectiva hist¨®rica no que diz respeito ¨¤s formas e cores utilizadas nesses trajes, que passa pelo s¨¦culo XV at¨¦ a atualidade. Com o intuito de verificar a rea  o masculina em rela  o ¨¤s cores de seus trajes, foi utilizada a pesquisa explorat¨®ria, com entrevistados usu¨˘rios do traje formal, o qual inclui cal a, palet¨®, camisa e gravata. O objetivo final foi revelar como esses homens percebem os significados do traje social e das cores discutindo a sua rela  o com as suas vestes.This article is a reflection on the masculine perception of the colour in formal clothing (suit). A historical retrospective was carried out in regards to the shapes and colours used in these pieces, from the 15th century to date. With the intention to analyze masculine reaction in relation to the colours of their clothing, an explorative research was carried out, with interviewees that normally wear formal suits (pants, suit, shirt and tie). The final objective was to reveal how these men perceive the meanings of formal clothing and its colours, relating it with the way they dress.
