%X : La muerte violenta de uno de los empleados de la Compa ¨ªa Explotadora de Isla de Pascua, en agosto de 1915, permite arrojar luz sobre la comunidad rapanui, sus actos de rebeli¨®n y resistencia frente al poder colonial. Su efecto de "justicia", junto a la rebeli¨®n "milenarista" de 1914, permiti¨® que tanto el Estado (a trav¨¦s de la mediaci¨®n del obispo castrense Edwards) como la Compa ¨ªa modificaran sus nexos coloniales con los rapanui (de "autoritarios" y "expoliadores" se pasa a unos "paternalistas" y "caritativos", dando pie a formas h¨ªbridas de poder y de un cierto pluralismo legal). The violent death of one of the employees of Easter Island Exploitation Company, in August 1915, can shed light on the rapanui community, their acts of rebellion and resistance against the colonial power. Its effect of "justice", with the "millenarist" rebellion of 1914, allowed both the State (through the mediation of the military Bishop Edwards) and the Company, to change its colonial ties with the rapanui (from "authoritarian" and "spoiler" to "paternalistic" and "charitable" allowed hybrid forms of power and some legal pluralism).
