%X Este art¨ªculo recorta y reconstruye, dentro de las tentativas favorables a la uni¨®n continental en Am¨¦rica Latina, un conjunto de pr¨¢cticas y representaciones que conforman un ciclo hist¨®rico que aqu¨ª se denomina "latinoamericanismo desde abajo". Prohijado inicialmente por figuras vinculadas al modernismo literario, e intensificado tras el estallido de la Reforma Universitaria de 1918, esta modalidad se caracteriza por haber surgido de figuras que actuaban desde fuera (y en ocasiones contra) las elites estatales. Este ciclo, que encuentra su apogeo en la d¨¦cada de 1920, entra en declive luego de 1930. This article identifies and rebuilds, within the attempts toward pro-continental union in Latin America, a set of practices and representations that make up a historical cycle that is called here "Latino Americanism from below. " Fathered by figures initially linked to literary modernis, and intensified after the outbreak of the University Reform of 1918, this movement has been characterized by having emerged from figures that acted from outside (and sometimes against) the state elites. This cycle, which finds its apogee in the 1920s, comes into decline after 1930.
